Carriage Paid To (CPT) is an Incoterm where the seller pays for transporting the goods to a named destination. Meanwhile, the risk will transfer to the buyer once the seller hands the goods over to the first carrier. CPT applies to any mode of transport and is commonly used in international shipping contracts.
Under CPT, the buyer handles import clearance, duties, and final delivery, while the seller arranges and pays for the main carriage.
