Class 2 Hazmat Shipping

Ship Class 2 hazardous gases safely from China with ASLG. Our DG-certified experts ensure full compliance and reliable global delivery.

Hazmat Class 2 – Gases

Class 2 hazardous materials include compressed, liquefied, dissolved, and refrigerated gases. International dangerous goods regulations define gases as substances that have a vapor pressure above 300 kPa (3 bar) at 50 °C. They also include materials that exist entirely in a gaseous state at 20 °C and 101 kPa.

These materials may be flammable, toxic, oxidizing, or inert, and all require strict control of pressure and temperature to ensure safe transport.

Class 2 Hazmat Divisions

Class 2.1 – Flammable Gases

These gases ignite easily when exposed to air or heat sources.

They require flame-resistant containers, leak testing, and “FLAMMABLE GAS” placards during transport. In international transport, compliance with IATA PI 200 (air) and IMDG Code 2.1 (ocean) is mandatory.

Class 2.2 – Non-Flammable, Non-Toxic Gases

These gases are generally inert but can still displace oxygen or create pressure hazards.

They require “NON-FLAMMABLE GAS” labels and pressure-rated cylinders.

Class-2.2-Non-Flammable-Non-Toxic-Gases

Class 2.3 – Toxic Gases

Highly regulated due to their health and environmental impact.

Transport requires special permits, dedicated packaging, and emergency response documentation in accordance with IMDG Chapter 2.3 and IATA DGR Section 2.3. Cylinders must bear the white “Toxic Gas” label with skull and crossbones, indicating immediate danger.

Each package must:

– Meet UN performance standards

– Be tested for leaks and pressure tolerance

– Contain valve protection caps and pressure relief devices

Documentation includes:

– Dangerous Goods Declaration

– Packing certificate (for ocean freight)

– Import/export permits (if applicable)
