The Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) is the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s primary electronic platform for processing import and export data. ACE provides a centralized system for the trade community to file documentation, track shipments, and pay duties and taxes. It also manages regulatory compliance across all modes of transportation.
By automating trade processes, ACE improves efficiency, reduces paperwork, minimizes delays, and enhances border security. It also integrates with partner government agencies (PGAs) to support cross-agency data sharing and compliance enforcement.
ACE is used exclusively in the United States to manage all import and export transactions. Customs brokers, importers, carriers, and freight forwarders must file entries through ACE with CBP.
